Concealed Weapons

First of all, let me welcome you to our Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) course. You only need to bring a few things on the day of the class, listed below for your convenience.

This course satisfies all requirements for S.L.E.D. Concealed Weapons Permit, we provide approximately eight (8) hour class divided into four (4) hours of classroom (legal) and four (4) hours on the range with a lunch break (you have to provide your own lunch). This time may be shorter based upon the experience level of the students as it relates to firearm's knowledge.

Under the new law, military veterans and retirees that possess a DD214 are ONLY required to attend the first portion (LEGAL) of the class.

You only need to bring a few things on the day of the class, listed below for your convenience.

There are two fees associated with obtaining your permit:

$70 ($45 Veteran/Retiree Legal Only) instructional fee payable to your instructors
$50 CWP application processing fee payable to S.L.E.D.
Active duty, retired, military veterans and their family will receive a $5 discount on each person's fees for the FULL course.

You only need to bring the $70 ($45) instructional fee on the day of the class. We must receive payment in CASH ONLY at the beginning of the class. Due to the location, we cannot make change so please bring the exact amount.

You may also register for the class @

What do you get for this instructional fee? You get a full service experience. Unlike some programs, all you need to bring on the day of the class is:

    something to write with
    your weapon
    your holster
at least 50 rounds of ammunition
    and of course ... yourself

We provide everything else required by S.L.E.D. - even the addressed envelope to mail off your application.

Dress in comfortable clothing on the day of class. You must wear closed-toe shoes, long pants or shorts, and some form of eye protection during qualification. Eye protection includes prescription glasses, sunglasses, or safety glasses.

Please call if you have any problems locating the range. We will see you soon!

*** Active Duty, Active Reserves and Active National Guard members are EXEMPT from any training requirement under the new law. HOWEVER, I would highly recommend that those members take the legal portion in order to properly understand the laws pertaining CWP and self-defense for South Carolina ***
