Captain Mike Evans received his initial firearms training with the United States Marine Corps in 1988 and it continued while he served with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines as an Anti-tank Gunner (0351) in the infantry career field until 1992. During his active duty service, he was afforded the opportunities to attend several schools such as jungle warfare, desert warfare and mountain warfare and numerous other training deployments. This allowed for him to take his training and apply it to various and complex environments and situations. He was meritoriously promoted to Corporal in February 1991 as his unit was securing from its desert operations with Task Force Ripper - Desert Shield/Storm. After leaving active duty, he served with the U.S. Marine Reserves obtaining the rank of Sergeant.

Captain Mike Evans has been married to Brandi since 2013, and they have a loving blended family. Mike has a son (Zachary), a daughter(Courtney,) and Brandi has two sons (James and Landon). They also have two young grandboys. They have four fur babies that they love very much. Mike and Brandi enjoy fishing, hunting, golfing, spending time with their family and just being together.
Captain Evans has been teaching concealed weapons class in the Sumter community since May 2007 and Brandi took over everything that isn't being the instructor. She will be the one you are in contact with before and after the class you take.
